A team of researchers from University of Arizona found that green light-emitting diode (LED) holds the potential of becoming a novel, non-pharmacological approach in managing chronic pain.  Mohab Ibrahim, an assistant professor of Anesthesiology and Pharmacology at UA, is lead author of the study.

University of Arizona Epidemiology and Biostatistics Professor and Department Chair Dr. Zhao Chen headed up a national study that has found not all extra pounds are equal when it comes to their impact on your health. Dr. Chen and her colleagues looked into more than 160,000 post-menopausal women and found that women who have apple-shaped bodies (more abdominal fat) have the highest risk of dying prematurely.
