The Warrior-Scholar Project was launched in 2012 to offer academic boot camps for veterans seeking a higher education. The UA is among 12 schools hosting the program this year. Texas public-health officials said Tuesday that the first case of the Zika virus has been transmitted in the United States, likely through sex with an infected person. "It will stay a vector-borne disease, but that doesn't mean there won't be isolated cases where it's transmitted through sexual contact," said Will Humble, division director for health policy and evaluation at the UA Center for Population Science & Discovery.
