Dr. Leigh Neumayer became interim vice president of health sciences — one of the university’s most powerful and high-profile positions — on Jan. 1. The job includes overseeing both of the UA’s medical schools, as well as the separate colleges of Pharmacy, Nursing and Public Health. The total health sciences budget is $595 million per year.
